Renowned theoretical physicist, Lee Smolin, author of The Life of the Cosmos, Three Roads to Quantum Gravity, brings us his latest book Trouble with Physics: Rise of String Theory. Lee will be interviewed by author and host of the Discovery Channel’s Daily Planet Jay Ingram. Lee’s book argues that physics — the basis for all other sciences — has lost its way. Why is physics suddenly in trouble? And what can we do about it?

Lee Smolin earned his Ph.D. in physics at Harvard, then went on to teach at Yale and Pennsylvania State before helping to found the innovative Perimeter Institute. He is the author of The Life of the Cosmosand Three Roads to Quantum Gravity.

Jay Ingram is the host of the Discovery Channel’s Daily Planet and is the author of several bestsellers including Talk, Talk, Talk, The Science of Everyday Life and The Burning House, which won the 1995 Canadian Science Writers Book Award. He has also written three children’s books and has written and hosted several radio documentaries, including Cranial Pursuits and The Talk Show.
