About the Reading Series
HISTORY
“Bringing books and people together for more than 25 years”
For more than 25 years, the Reading Series has welcomed veteran and newcomer authors, bringing them together with ever growing audiences in an enjoyable, comfortable, informal, welcoming atmosphere. The University of Toronto Bookstore Reading Series began in the early 1980’s by introducing playwrights, poets, fiction and non-fiction writers and their latest books to audiences. Our events have always presented authors reading from, or discussing, their work thereby giving audiences an opportunity to engage with the authors prior to the autographing sessions that wrap up every Reading Series event.
A few nightly events soon grew into a yearly series of incredible readings that continues to draw authors and audiences from around the city and the world. The Reading Series is divided into two seasons. The Spring/Summer season runs from March until early June and the Winter/Fall season runs from September to early December. In the upcoming year, we extend a warm invitation to everyone to come out and enjoy some wonderfully entertaining evenings with the Reading Series.
Sincerely,
Michael Emery
